Testimonials
Solar Charge takes great pride
in delivering quality products and services to our customers. Since
the business began in the early 1970’s our best advertising
has been “word of mouth”. Happy customers make for business
longevity and we take this opportunity to thank our customers for
making us the longest serving specialist Renewable Energy company
in Australia and the longest serving BP Solar (previously Solarex)
Distributor in the world. We our proud that our hand picked country
Dealers offer similar quality to their customers.
Here are extracts of what our satisfied customers say about our
products and us. We invite you to our showroom in Melbourne to view
these letters in full and experience our personal service and technical
back up. We go out of our way, so you don’t have to.
Solar – Grid
connect systems
It all started 16 years ago at our holiday house and Tanjil
Bren. There was no electricity connected to the village . . . what
were we to do? I had heard about solar power through news of systems
in Israel. I bought my first solar panel from Solar Charge in Brighton,
got some cheap second hand telecom 2V 200ah batteries, a regulator,
a car radio/cassette player, some low voltage lights and installed
it myself. It was not difficult. It was the best thing I could have
done - no noisy costly generator, a simple quiet renewable source
that is still going strong today.
I was keen to put a solar system into my new Melbourne house
and got together with Solar Charge to work it out. The system is
a new style Grid interactive. To me this is the way of the future.
We all should use a clean, renewable energy source, just look at
the pollution around us. People should push government to make solar
power cheaper. Fossil fuel is not sustainable and polluting.
If I had to put it in a nutshell: This house is Solar powered
by a Grid Interactive system for the sake of our Planet. This is
a sustainable, non-polluting energy source: we cannot burn fossil
fuel forever.
Kind regards,
Del Reiss, Brighton, VIC 1998

I would like to take this opportunity to tell you how pleased
we are with the Solar Charge Grid connected solar system. Your staff
did an excellent job with the installation four months ago and the
system has performed better than expected.
We have been net exporters of electricity since day one and
were delighted to see what a difference this has made to our electricity
bills. Our power provider pays us for every kilowatt we produce
and bills have now become something to look forward to.
This is a win for the environment and a win for our bottom
line. Well done Solar Charge!
Richard Kuhlen, Forest Hills, VIC 2001

Just a quick note to let you know how we are going with our
Solar generation facility installed by you late last year. After
6 months (admittedly over Summer) we had generated more than we
had consumed.
Suffice it to say, Marlene and I are more than happy with the
solar system that you installed for us. The service we received
from your company was second to none and everything was done smoothly
and without hassle. Many thanks to you and your team.
Yours truly,
Brendon Jones, Warranwood, VIC 2001
Remote Area Power
Systems
To Whom This May Concern:
“ We bought our land in April 1996. We knew from the beginning
that we wanted to be solar powered, but getting a quote from the
local electricity board locked in our decision. We tried a couple
of solar suppliers, but found them to be less than customer friendly
– more interested in quick sales than education and installation.
Finally, by word of mouth we came upon SOLAR CHARGE in Brighton
and established a long working relationship with Richard Potter.
From the beginning, Solar Charge gave us all of the things we couldn’t
find elsewhere: quick, simple explanations, instant price quotes,
and reliable recommendations.
He surveyed our property and house location to make the final
determination on just what solar equipment we would require. We
began building our house in October 1997. It was completed in February
1998. Throughout all that time, Richard managed to juggle suppliers
and delivery dates to coincide with our construction progress. Finally,
he was able to install the total system into our unique mud brick
studio cum power shed.
Nothing ever works exactly like the manual describes, but with
the cooperation and endless patience of Solar Charge, I have just
about mastered the management of my alternative power system.
David and Linda Hansen, Pipers Creek, VIC 1999
Dear Richard,
We have survived the winter without any shortage of power from
our system. In fact, our solar system has been more reliable for
us than the power-grid has been for our hapless neighbours who have
had black out after blackout with the recent storms. There has even
been talk of relocating the Drumborg Fire Brigade communications
centre to our house, as our autonomous system would be more reliable
in case of a bushfire!
In our lifestyle, it has allowed us to develop new interests.
The first purchase was a soldering kit for our son Egan. The most
relevant effect has been the knowledge that we are doing something
positive about our environment, not just talking about it. With
the help of modern technology we are living more in harmony with
the natural world.
Yours Sincerely,
Jack Doeven, Drumborg, VIC 1991
From the son:
I think that it is clever that we can take the sun’s energy
and use it for our energy. Each night after school, I check the
battery voltage, then tell mum . . . fi it is low, then I also know
what I can do if it is fairly high. I can do my soldering, or play
a lot of music. If it is low, I leave things till another day. With
lights to turn on, I am free to move about on the house on my own,
even in the middle of the night.
Regards,
Egan (Doeven – age 8)
Dear Richard,
Just a short note in which to thank you for your prompt attention
in replacing the battery charger recently. You will no doubt be
pleased to hear that all is now well and the batteries are charging
perfectly.
Once again, many thanks for your prompt attention.
Yours faithfully,
Mr Brydon, Gladysdale VIC 1994
After 8 years living exclusively with solar power, we are happy
to say that the ongoing service and help given by Richard at Solar
Charge has been terrific. New improved equipment was made known
to us and installed as appropriate. The new monitoring equipment
has simplified our system maintenance and added some visitor’s
interest.
Kind regards,
John Hansen, Strath Creek VIC 1998
It has been three years now since we chose to use solar and
wind power and we wouldn’t have it any other way. It has been
very successful, and it has already paid for itself.
Yours Sincerely,
Win and Leo Kneebone, Toolleen, VIC 1994
Re: Rutland Wind Charger 910
Dear James,
I’m very surprised that the only service my wind charger
needs is just a change of bearings after 12 years of continuous
spinning around to whatever wind comes across Skoiern IV decks keeping
her four batteries topped up.
It gives me great pleasure to recommend the Rutland Wind Chargers
to anyone who cares to enjoy peace of mind. My Rutland Wind Charger
is one of the best pieces of electronic equipment on Skoiern. I
never have to worry if the boats’ motor will start. This is
important as I travel a lot overseas and am away up to 6 weeks at
a time. When I get back I go sailing instead of charging my batteries.
Many thanks for the quick turn around in giving the once over
and changing the bearings.
Kind Regards,
John Majewski, Skoiern IV, NSW 2003
